Seeking Library Media Assistant for a full-time position, beginning the 2026-27 school year. Successful prior school experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
Library Media Assistant
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Library Media Specialist, to assist students, and teaching staff with an enriching library/media center environment with a wide range of reading and other educational materials; maintains library collection at school site; develops appropriate programs for students utilizing library resources; and instructs students and others on the proper use of the library resources.
Essential Functions
- Assists media specialist and instructional support specialist with day-to-day operation of the media center.
- Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Checks materials in and out using computerized circulation system
- Update TVs and other technology for important information.
- Assists teachers and students in using software programs available in the library.
- Serves as a resource to students to provide research assistance.
- Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, communication, and other skills.
- Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
- Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs.
- Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, and other related non-instructional areas.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Library Media Specialist and/or Principal.

Experience:
