Role


Coordinates workforce development programming, networks with community agencies and organizations, provides library services, and acts as a staff resource. 


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


30% - CAREER AND WORKFORCE INITIATIVES – Works with Districtwide Events & Experiences Supervisor, Weld County Workforce Center (WCWC), and Community Relations & Marketing staff in identifying relevant locations, opportunities and outreach events; works in partnership with Weld County Workforce Center to promote use of library services and career-related resources; uses project management and outcome-based planning and evaluation tools to develop and assess events that fulfill target audience needs and networks with community agencies and businesses. Monitors and works toward strategic goals to achieve expected outcomes and expand workforce development access across the countyMonitors, tracks, and reports progress toward performance goals and grant metrics. (Essential)


20% - COMMUNITY NETWORKING – Works with Districtwide Events & Experiences Supervisor and Weld County Workforce Center staff to identify priorities; participates in community organizations by attending meetings; and plans Workmobile initiatives in order to increase community awareness and demand for workforce services. (Essential)


20% - TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE AND INSTRUCTION – Receives referrals from Library Associates working with patrons, provides one-on-one technology and resource assistance for patrons on a walk-in basis or by appointment. Identifies opportunities for formal training with WCWC. Accommodates different learning styles and collaborates with the learner individually, or in a classroom, to meet their information needs. (Essential)


10% - DRIVES LARGE VEHICLES – Safely drives large vehicles (such as a bookmobile that is up to 34’ long) and delivery vans to remote locations throughout service areas and through congested city traffic in sometimes adverse weather conditions to locate assets at locations where patrons can access library services and materials. Oversees daily operations and maintenance of the Workmobile vehicle, ensuring safe, reliable, and effective service delivery. Ensures the Workmobile remains stocked with necessary supplies, technology, outreach tools, and resources. 15% - PATRON ASSISTANCE – Receives referrals from Workforce Library Associate working with patrons, assists patrons in locating information and provides in-depth reference services, through use of library, online, and community resources. Stays well informed as a readers’ advisor. Assists in circulation tasks, including locating library materials, creating library accounts, checking in and out materials, and addressing patron account problems. (Essential)


5% - OTHER DUTIES – Creates displays and bibliographies, and maintains and creates social media and/or web content; recommends budget items, requests equipment and supply purchases, prepares statistical reports and assists Supervisor with projects in order to ensure the smooth operation of the department. (Non-essential)


Minimum Requirements:


Education: 


Master of Library and Information Science 


Experience:


Two or more years of experience working in a library (preferred)


Valid driver’s license and good driving record


Able to drive personal vehicle, large RV style bookmobile, or van to deliver programs and services.


Able to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently (preferred)
