Key duties and responsibilities
Under limited direction, the Records Archivist will:
- Review digital and physical records to ensure they are appropriately classified and sentenced in accordance with approved Records Authorities
- Apply classification and sentencing to digital files using Content Manager (TRIM) and M365
- Identify records that have reached or exceeded their retention period
- Prepare records for disposal, including required documentation and approvals, in line with legislation and agency policy
- Conduct disposal of records in accordance with authorised disposal schedules and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of disposal actions undertaken
- Work collaboratively with the Information and Records team to support consistent records and information management practices
- Provide advice and guidance to business areas on records classification, sentencing, and retention requirements
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of records and information management processes and documentation
- Assist with audits, reviews, and reporting related to records management compliance as required

Essential criteria
1.Demonstrated experience in records or archives management in a digital environment
2.Knowledge of the Archives Act 1983 and Australian Government records management requirements
3.Experience applying records classification and sentencing using approved disposal authorities
4.Experience using Content Manager (TRIM)
5.Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
