About This Opportunity  

The Library IT Officer for Student Support plays a vital role in helping students succeed in a digital learning environment at UQ. Acting as the escalation point for Tier1 AskUs staff, you will provide timely IT support, assist students with a range of queries both online and in-person, and help navigate UQ’s evolving digital systems, including online exams, Microsoft 365 Applications, Okta Multi Factor Authentication and Artificial Intelligence tools.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Provide second-tier IT support to students, serving as the escalation point for first-tier staff in the AskUs service

  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of support across face-to-face and digital channels.

  • Build student digital capability and support engagement with UQ’s learning platforms and tools.

About You  

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in IT, computing or a related field.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams across the University.

  • Experience supporting multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Linux/Unix and mobile platforms.

  • Customer-focused IT support experience, with the ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced service environments.

  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, equity, diversity and inclusion, including the ability to apply inclusive approaches in service delivery
