SUMMARY: Directs the activities of the Coronado Center Library and is responsible for it's overall operation and resources.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: College degree in Library Science. Consideration will be given to an individual without a college degree if he/she can demonstrate strengths in certain key areas such as written and oral communication skills and an ability to interact well with the public and some library experience is necessary. Basic computer skills are required. Experience in lieu of degree.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The library is primarily for recreational reading and a social gathering place. Noise levels should be appropriate.
