Role overview:
As Librarian, you will manage and develop the school library, ensuring it remains an engaging and accessible resource for all students. You will promote reading for pleasure, support curriculum learning, and contribute to whole-school literacy initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the school library

  • Organise, catalogue, and maintain library resources

  • Promote reading through events, displays, and initiatives

  • Support students with research and independent study

  • Work with teaching staff to support curriculum-based resources

  • Manage library systems and monitor usage

  • Create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment

  • Experience working in a library, school, or similar setting

  • Passion for reading and literacy development

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to engage and support young people

  • IT proficiency and experience with library systems (desirable)
