Librarian – High-Performing Secondary School – Harrogate

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Librarian to join a high-performing secondary school in Harrogate. This is a key role supporting literacy, independent learning and academic development across the school.

The successful candidate will manage the library as a central learning hub, ensuring it is a welcoming, well-resourced and engaging environment for students and staff. You will play an important role in promoting reading, supporting research skills and contributing to whole-school literacy initiatives.

This role requires strong organisational skills, excellent communication and a genuine passion for supporting student learning.

• Manage library systems, resources and catalogues
• Promote reading and literacy initiatives across the school
• Support students with research and independent study skills
• Organise enrichment activities, events and reading programmes
• Maintain an engaging and welcoming library environment
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support the curriculum

Requirements:
• Library or school experience
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• IT proficiency and experience with library systems
• Passion for literacy and student development
• Ability to engage and support young people
