• 1x full time, fixed term position until 11th September 2026 working in the Academic Engagement (HASS) team
• 1x part time (0.47 FTE – 16.5hrs per week) fixed term position until 31st December 2026 working in the Academic Engagement (STEM) team
• Base salary $103,185 +17% superannuation
  
   

About the opportunity

The Academic Engagement Librarian supports engagement between the Library and the University’s faculties and schools, enabling the delivery of impactful services and initiatives that meet the evolving needs of the academic community. By building strong relationships with key faculty and school stakeholders and gathering business intelligence, this role develops a deep understanding of faculty and school priorities at scale. This understanding is used to shape and align Library services, ensuring they are user-friendly, clearly understood, and responsive to current and emerging needs across disciplines. The role contributes directly to enhancing client-focused services and advancing University teaching and research priorities.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• work closely with faculty stakeholders to build and maintain strategic partnerships
• gather and analyse engagement insights to inform service improvement and future development
• facilitate connections between faculties and Library expert teams through a client-focused referral process
• support and deliver tailored programs and services aligned to research and academic needs, including learning

experiences

About you

• proven ability to engage with diverse stakeholders across the academic community, demonstrating effective collaboration and partnership-building skills.

• excellent communication skills and ability to develop and implement impactful communication strategies, including presentations and reports

• strong problem-solving and adaptability skills, showcasing independent judgment, initiative, and creative thinking to address challenges and seize opportunities.

• strong analytical skills to assess client needs, identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration, and respond to the current and future needs of both internal and external clients.

• demonstrated ability to understand clients’ information needs, guide them in formulating research questions, and provide tailored guidance in accessing and evaluating relevant resources.

• ability to take an evidence-based approach to measuring impact, enabling continuous improvement of services and resources.

• demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate within a team and contribute to shared goals
