The City of Chaska has openings for the Library Task Force and the Downtown Master Plan Task Force beginning June 2026. The Downtown Master Plan Task Force is expected to be completed by early 2027. The Library Task Force will complete their work December 2027. These are volunteer positions.
The Library Task Force will be providing feedback on the design of the new Chaska Library. The task force will consist of a Chaska City Councilmember, a Carver County Commissioner, a Carver County Library Board member, a Friends of the Chaska Library member, and four at large members. The task force is planned to meet approximately four times from August 2026-December 2027. These meetings will be held in the evening and are anticipated to last two hours long each meeting.
The Downtown Master Plan Task Force will provide feedback and direction to Chaska city staff and consultants on the update of the Downtown Master Plan. The current plan was adopted in 2012 and the City Council has determined that the plan should be revisited to define downtown’s priorities and objectives looking to the future. The task force will consist of two Chaska City Councilmembers, a member of the Heritage Preservation Commission, up to two downtown residents, up to two at-large residents, members of the Chaska Downtown Business Alliance, the SW Chamber, SW Transit and potentially other institutions located downtown. The task force is planned to meet approximately four times fromJune2026 to early 2027. These meetings will be held in the evening and are anticipated to last two hours long each meeting.
