This position involves digitizing and editing a variety of materials, including books, newspapers, reports, manuscripts, film slides, photographs, and images. Responsibilities may also include adding metadata and geolocation to the institutional repository to describe these materials and reviewing existing metadata for accuracy. Student duties will require the use of various photo and book scanners and their accompanying software, Adobe Creative Cloud (Bridge and Photoshop), file management, and may require Excel spreadsheet or direct repository data entry. Students should have a keen interest in researching historic documents and photographs, as this is a necessary skill in creating the metadata records. Students majoring in history, environmental science, or fields that use GIS are strongly encouraged to apply.
Compensation: $16.00 per Hour
