POSITION SUMMARY:

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Holds bachelor’s degree and required Kentucky Department of Education certification for assigned position.
2. Proven ability to work effectively with students.
3. Proven ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: Students and Instructional/General Aides as assigned.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support all students and staff by providing access to diverse, developmentally appropriate print and digital resources that enhance classroom instruction and foster independent learning.
Help students develop critical thinking, digital citizenship, and information-literacy skills through engaging read-alouds, research lessons, technology integration, and collaborative planning with teachers.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the library—such as collection development, cataloging, and circulation
Create a welcoming space where every child can explore, imagine, and grow.
Lead the staff in building a culture of literacy across the school community by coordinating reading initiatives, facilitating enrichment programs, and ensuring equitable access to learning tools and technologies.
Support the school’s mission by empowering students to become confident readers, responsible digital citizens, and enthusiastic lifelong learners.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
197-day employee with salary determined by the adopted teacher’s salary schedule of the Paducah Public Schools Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
