The Wolcott Town School District is seeking a dynamic Library Media Specialist starting with the 2026-2027 school year. The Library Media Specialist is responsible for working collaboratively with school administration and staff to develop a library program that supports the curriculum; provides instructional leadership for the teaching of literacy and technology skills; integrates technology-use education to enhance educational experiences and teach 21st-century skills, teaches Information Literacy & Digital Citizenship, develops and maintains a media center collection rich in both print and non‐print materials; and manages the media center as a flexible, multi‐task learning environment.

Tasks include, but are not limited to, managing the day-to-day operations of the school library, using standard library procedures to research, develop, acquire, organize, maintain and make available a balanced and diverse collection of current information, working collaboratively with all staff, providing expertise in the selection, acquisition, evaluation, and organization of information resources and technologies in all formats, ensuring equitable and ethical use of information, teaching students to follow an inquiry process as they ask questions, evaluate and collect information from multiple sources to construct understanding by thinking critically and ensuring flexible and equitable access to resources that support the student’s academic and personal learning needs.

This position is a part of the Teachers' Collective Bargaining Unit, with a full-time equivalency (FTE) of 60%. All benefits offered to full-time teachers are available at a prorated amount. The salary range listed has been adjusted to the 0.60 FTE of the position.

Wolcott Elementary School is the gem of the Wolcott community. Built in 1989, the school has been host to many wonderful students, teachers, and families. Currently, Wolcott Elementary serves 110 students in grades K-6. Situated high on the hill, Wolcott Elementary offers students a safe, comfortable, and rigorous academic environment. While academics are an important part of the experience, our students are also treated to a loving and caring school environment.
