The Position 

We are seeking a full-time, ongoing Library Assistant to work in our Senior School Library. This is a Term Time Only position (school holidays off), commencing Monday, 4 May 2026

The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for literacy and an interest in the learning and development requirements of students. You will provide quality customer service and assistance to all library users including staff.

As part of the School’s library services team, you will help with a range of tasks, assisting in the delivery of library services and programs, to ensure our School libraries are operating to a high standard to provide opportunities for students to use resources to assist in their learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Circulation desk duties, which involves managing library resources and enquiries from staff and students in a warm and friendly manner
  • Assisting with general tidiness of the physical environment of the library
  • Shelving, shelf checking and processing of resources
  • General library duties, including stock and inventory maintenance, and assisting with collection development tasks as directed
  • Assist with the coordination of physical displays
  • Process overdue notices and assist with managing library data
  • Assist with general supervision of students in a busy and thriving library

 Desirable Skills & Qualities:

  • Certificate III (or higher) in Library and Information Services, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a school setting is highly desirable 
  • Experience with IT systems, particularly library management systems
  • Positive attitude, approachable manner and strong interpersonal skills
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check
