We are seeking two Library and Council Services Assistants to join our team on a permanent, part‑time basis (20 and 22 hours per week), primarily based at Takapuna Library within the Devonport–Takapuna Local Board. As an integrated library and council service site open seven days a week, the roles include regular weekend shifts, so flexibility to work weekends is essential.

Libraries play a vital role in supporting literate, active, and connected communities. As a Library and Council Services Assistant, you help ensure people can access information, council services, learning opportunities, and inclusive public spaces—often at important moments in their lives.
This role contributes to creating welcoming environments where people of all backgrounds feel safe, supported, connected to their community, and able to participate fully in civic and community life. You’ll be part of a service that makes Auckland more accessible, informed, and inclusive every day.
