DESCRIPTION:
The Minnesota Judicial Branch, State Law Library currently has an opening for a part-time librarian in the Law Library Service to Prisoners (LLSP) program. Under an Inter-Agency Agreement between the Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) and the Minnesota State Law Library (MSLL), LLSP provides law library service to people incarcerated in Minnesota correctional facilities or otherwise under DOC jurisdiction. The LLSP librarian provides legal information services by researching and providing resources that respond to requests. Both independent and collaborative work are required. Responsibilities may include directing the work of paraprofessionals, interns, or volunteers. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Library Division Supervisor.

SALARY RANGE & BENEFITS: The expected starting salary range for external candidates is $31.84 – $40.59 per hour ($33,240 - $42,375 annually). The full salary range for this position is $31.84– $49.30 per hour ($33,240 - $51,469). This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of Minnesota employee benefits.

This part-time, permanent position is classified as a Librarian. Work will be performed predominantly during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, at the State Law Library located at the Minnesota Judicial Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.
