  • Continuing full-time Discipline Librarian  
  • Teaching and outreach role for Arts, Education and Law, based at Brisbane South (Nathan) 

Job Description

As a Discipline Librarian L&T, you will lead outreach and support principally the Arts, Education and Law (AEL) academic group. As a member of the Learning and Teaching Team, you will work closely with your colleagues and other teams across the Library to deliver high quality academic, information and digital skills support for students and researchers. You will collaborate closely with a committed team of Librarians, Learning Advisers, and Digital Capability Advisers to enhance students’ academic success.  

Based within the Academic Engagement Services (AES) team, this team supports students with academic skills development through workshops, consultations, eLearning resources and other learning and teaching services.  

About you   

  • A degree in librarianship or significant progress towards a degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.  
  • Eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information association. 
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing and delivering high‑quality learning and teaching support for students and researchers through group instruction, one to one consultations, online delivery and eLearning materials.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with academic staff and professional colleagues to embed and enhance library learning, teaching and researcher services. 
  • Ability to provide professional, discipline‑specific guidance, including contributing to collection development, supporting emerging technologies, and delivering consistent services across physical and virtual environments. 
  • Well organised and adaptable, with experience contributing to or leading projects, engagement planning and continuous improvement activities, and a strong commitment to inclusive practice and high‑quality service delivery. 
  • Experience working in an academic Library and knowledge of humanities, arts, education and law will be highly regarded 

What we can offer 
This is a continuing, full-time position primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site university you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

HEW level 7 salary range $104,504  – $113,219 pa + 17% superannuation.
